Joyce L. Hindman, nee Schmidt, 74 of Belleville, Illinois, born January 20, 1943, passed away May 11, 2017 in Belleville, Illinois.

Joyce worked as a supervisor with Douglas Elementary School in Belleville District # 118. She was always the "go to" person for family. She was fun, caring and a wonderful friend to all. Her happiest moments were times spent with her family. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53...

Joyce L. Hindman, nee Schmidt, 74 of Belleville, Illinois, born January 20, 1943, passed away May 11, 2017 in Belleville, Illinois.

Joyce worked as a supervisor with Douglas Elementary School in Belleville District # 118. She was always the "go to" person for family. She was fun, caring and a wonderful friend to all. Her happiest moments were times spent with her family. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Darrell E. Hindman; her son, Scott E. Hindman; and her parents, Elmer and Helen, nee Sink, Schmidt.

Surviving are her two daughters, Kimberly (Scott) Rollet, of Burfordville, Missouri and Tracy Chapman, of Jackson, Missouri; her grandchildren, Corey (Shanna) Chapman, Brandon Chapman, and Ashley Chapman; her four great grandchildren, Palin, Maci, Bentley, and Vincent; a sister, Carol (Elmer "Sonny") Sterthman, of O'Fallon, Illinois; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 15, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Kurrelmeyer officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
