Patricia Ann Blaies, 79, of Freeburg, Illinois, born August 14, 1938, in East St. Louis, Illinois, peacefully, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017, in Freeburg, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family.

Pat worked for Associates Finance in Fairview Heights, until her retirement in 1994. She was an avid reader with a good book always in her hands. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, and had a passion for music. Her family meant the most to her; especially, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and any "new bundle of joy" introduced into the family. She was...

Patricia Ann Blaies, 79, of Freeburg, Illinois, born August 14, 1938, in East St. Louis, Illinois, peacefully, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017, in Freeburg, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family.

Pat worked for Associates Finance in Fairview Heights, until her retirement in 1994. She was an avid reader with a good book always in her hands. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, and had a passion for music. Her family meant the most to her; especially, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and any "new bundle of joy" introduced into the family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, who will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy A. and Garnett, nee Nicholson, Prokopf; and her son, Mark A. Blaies.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 61 years, James R. "Jim" Blaies, of Freeburg, Illinois; her children, Catherine D. "Cathy" (Lisa Frumhoff) Blaies, of St. Louis, Missouri and James M. "Mike" (Mary Winter) Blaies, of Freeburg, Illinois; grandchildren, Jennifer A. (Kurt) Westerfield, Bradley M. (Meghan Wilson) Blaies, and Daniel J. Blaies; great grandchildren, Madison and Keaton; sisters, Judy L. Gutierrez and Susie Kiefer; brothers, LeRoy "Ferd" Prokopf, Jimmy Nicholson, and Mike Nicholson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the staffs of Freeburg Care Center and Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2017 at the funeral home with Monsignor William McGhee officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
